Wardrobe Wednesday: Get off the computer and hug your family!

Lovelies,

Spend the day with people you love. It barely matters what you wear.

I don't get to go home this year so I'm going through old family photos:

My Boo and my brother's wife "rapping"

My sister, her boo, and my boo.
Did you know our boo's are related? Yep, we married brothers.

Wardrobe Wednesday BLOG SALE! {charity, love, and hope included}

Darlings,

BLOG SALE! I'm getting rid of anything that is no longer a favorite or needed item. I'm realizing that I don't need all of this stuff, you know? I've been realizing newly just how much I have been blessed with, like access to clean water and consistent food supply, parents who love me, a job that can be free to live as i wish, travel, a lovely husband who treats me as an equal.
As a result of some soul-searching, i have decided that I'd like the proceeds of the blog sale to go towards loving/feeding/freeing people. AND to reward your giving hearts, we are doing a giveaway as well...

So, here's the deal:

Wardrobe Wednesday: BDIB Animal Prints!

Darlings,
Today I am participating in my first Bloggers Do It Better! Woohoo! It is animal prints - my fave.
But first off, here are some photos of my haircut since i trimmed it yesterday:

And here is my entry - a furry one:

 {found at billy goat vintage, Portland}

I think it will be really fun for photoshoots and concerts.

And here's a little treasure that I found at Ross for 21.99 - can you believe it???:

I wish my photos were better, but I was taking them myself by hanging the camera on a fencepost and setting the timer... Maybe one day I'll be cool enough to have someone take my photos for me. ;)

Much much love, darlins!

Wardrobe Wednesday: Rolling racks

Darlings,

In the new house, we have about 1 foot of hanging space. We bought a rolling rack from target, and this is our current situation. Don't laugh.

Jealous? Thought so.

Wowza - absence makes you miss me?

Darlings,
It has been a busy busy month. First off, my honey took me to NYC to visit my 2 best friends for a week. It was wonderful, and the outfits I chose were spot-on. Thank goodness. ;)
Then, we came home and packed up our house in Tyler. All of it.
Then, we were in Austin for 2 weeks, staying with about 5 different people, waiting to move.

Then, we got in the car and drove from Austin to Albequerque to Flagstaff to Salt Lake City to Boise to PORTLAND.
Now, we live in Portland... but not in our own house yet. We are staying with some friends of our friend's parents for a week.
Then, we move into our place on Sunday. For a 3 month lease. :) Then we move again... hahah

So here's a little taste of what fashion has been for the last month or so:

Ombre:
It was super fun, but I was growing weary of my long hair...
We went to a rooftop wig party, and I wore this silly little number....
which made me think - maybe I can do short?
We really enjoyed shopping. I got this whole outfit from urban Outfitters. :)
When I got home, I kept thinking about the hair thing...
I decided to cut it all off and donate to Locks of Love!

I have NEVER had hair this short. It feels fun. Haha, dude... I can't believe I did it. But I love it.

I'll become more regular again (in every way, but most specifically blogging) next week once I have a home.

Ok, I have met with about a hundred people about craigslist stuff, and my house is full of boxes. omg. :)
I am still in the process of eliminating  LOTS of stuff from our home, which feels good. Here is MORE of the base-line on the closet.

OMG. Who has this many dresses? And so few pants? I've really gotta work on this...

Have you ever done a full visual inventory of you closet? I'd love to know!

Minimalism: the Prelude

Darlings,
I am about to move... to Portland, Oregon. :) My Boo and I decided, with much prayer and a sense of trust in adventure, that we are ready for a change of pace. We will head to our new city in September, and there is so much to do! It is so hard to know what to pack first (you have to use your plates, ya know?), so I decided to use this time right now to begin prioritizing things we DON'T need to take. Number one being my wardrobe.
I simply have too much stuff. I am a collector of sorts... I keep all my clothes for EVER. I realize it's impractical... So, this move, I am going to go a bit more minimalist. Inspired by some other writers, I decided to go through my closet with a critical eye and
eliminate things that don't look good, feel good, or go with at least 3 other items. in. tense.

I wanted to show you a base-line of where my closet is after a little purge this morning:

Black/Grey tops

Includes 3 tanks (sparkly, plain, embellished), 2 v-necks (plain and print), one striped, one grey, and one loose-fitting blouse

Tops: Grey with colors, sweaters.
Includes 2 tanks (pink&grey, B&W stripes), 3 sweaters (2 patterned, 1 solid grey) and 1 multicolored, fancy top

Blues and Purples AKA the only colors I wear
includes 1 ditsy floral, 2 plaid, 1 sweater, 1 dressy top, 3 "nice" tops, 1 vintage sequins, and 3 tanks

Coral: AKA The OTHER only color i own.
Includes 1 one-shoulder top, 5 tanks (differing levels of fanciness), and 1 blouse. OMG.

 More Blues & Greens
2 sweaters, 2 strapless, 2 tanks, 1 peasant top
Yellow and white: pretty much the same because they're both ugly
1 tank, 1 button up, 1 sweater
 Fancy, cool-weather outerwear
2 black cardis, 1 "tribal", 1 vintage sequin, 1 modern grey sequin
Fancy outerwear for warmer weather
2 vests (long and short), 1 floral sweater, 1 coral sequin top, 1 fringe-y black bolero

Don't tell me it's hilarious. I like it.

 Coats/Jackets
1 black wool coat, 1 navy blazer, 1 green cropped jacket, 1 long houndstooth coat
9 skirts. Wow.
1 purple leather (I kid you not), 2 checkered, 2 floral, 1 black, 1 pink, 1 casual.
Almost all pencil skirts (what else would I buy? I'm no fool).

Shorts.
Too many. 2 denim, 1 brown/dressy, 2 checkered, 2 brights, 1 khaki, 1 linen.
damn.

Ok, this doesn't include dresses, jeans, or shoes.... That will come later.
Woof.
