Wardrobe Wendesday: New Hair!

Darlings, I did something new today.
I dyed my hair LIGHTER. I've never ever gone lighter. I'm always the girl with slightly-too-dark hair. ;)
But I wanted to change it up, so I took this photo to my Stylist:

My new stylist, Emily, is a rock star. She cut my hair last week, and I had such confidence in her that I let her do the unthinkable - bleach my pixie.

Makeup Monday: Tribal Inspirations

Hello, Lovelies!

Today I am excited because my Boo is coming back from his 2-week shift in Alaska. Every time he comes home, I'm just overwhelmed with happiness. :) He is my best friend, my lover, my sweet husband, and my equal. He challenges me, and tells me I'm fancy. rocks.
As a result of my excitement, I went a little crazy with the makeup. :) Plus, I got some rad new earrings from Claires, so the whole look is very "Mysterious African Princess from some Vaguely Insensitive Movie from the 1930's."

I am getting a massage today to work out the knots from 3 twelve-hr days I just had at "America's Largest Christmas Bazaar," so I'm not putting on makeup today.


I am also running out of fun things to do with the makeup I have. When we moved, I got rid of a LOT of my cosmetics, and I haven't replaced much yet.

Today has been a hugely busy day - took Boo the the airport, went to look at apartments, worked for a while at the office, found an apartment, filled out papers, and I'm about to deliver those papers so that we have a home come January. LONG day. And on top of that, I'm frantically trying to prepare for a HUGE Christmas Bazaar. Like, 30,000 people huge. {If you are in Portland, come see me! Hello, Loves.
I had a lovely weekend at my oldest friend's bachelorette party. :) She and I met when we were 10 and both on family vacation in Colorado. We've never lived in the same town, and usually not even in the same state, but we have kept in touch for the las 14 years. She's the longest-running non-family relationship I've had. Marina is her name, and she is a treasure. And now she's found a man who loves the crap out of her, and they are getting married! Such a happy day.
Needless to say, I am a little worn out from the festivities... so I have purple baggies under my eyes. Instead of fighting it, I decided to just run with the whole purple thing. haha

Darlings,

I had an interview with a lovely business today. I loved them - we just sat and chatted and played with their dog and talked about ideas. They were fantastic, and I hope they call me back with a yes. :)
One of the great mysteries in life is what to wear to an interview that will:

a. Look professional.

b. have some personality.

c. get you hired.

I wanted to stay away from the traditional "black skirt, blazer, simple top" theme that every business professor will tell you to wear. My style is how i do art! I don't want to hide it! So, I decided (with the help of my buddy Julie of chariee.com) to wear a color-blocked, bright, happy getup.

Wardrobe Wednesday BLOG SALE! {charity, love, and hope included}

Darlings,

BLOG SALE! I'm getting rid of anything that is no longer a favorite or needed item. I'm realizing that I don't need all of this stuff, you know? I've been realizing newly just how much I have been blessed with, like access to clean water and consistent food supply, parents who love me, a job that can be free to live as i wish, travel, a lovely husband who treats me as an equal. 
As a result of some soul-searching, i have decided that I'd like the proceeds of the blog sale to go towards loving/feeding/freeing people. AND to reward your giving hearts, we are doing a giveaway as well...

For today's Makeup Monday, I went with HUGE lashes and bronzy shadow. I had also just gotten my hair cut to look more like this:

Today I am participating in my first Bloggers Do It Better! Woohoo!It is animal prints - my fave.
