Monday: Link Love - 10 really good reads

Darlings,
One of my favorite aspects of blogging is the connections i get to make with other bloggers. I wanted to take a minute today to share some of my favorites with you! Take a second to check out these lovely links.

Megan from Lovely Happenings is actually someone I've met! She is also a Stella & Dot stylist, and we met at a training event. She gave me her business card, and once I checked out her blog, i was hooked. She has impeccable taste in all things from clothing to housewares, cosmetics to floral arrangements. It is a treasure to read her posts.

2. Oomph
I ADORE Oomph. She is the cutest little mama with a great sense of style and a really solid sense of humor. I find myself smiling reading her stuff, because she keeps it real. LOVE.

3. Elefantitas Alegres

I do NOT remember how I found this blog. I'm usually not much for baby-blogs {because I'm not much for babies - I wish them well, but please don't make me hold one}, but EA is SOOO GOOD. She tracked her pregnancy in the most adorable way, with humor and sarcasm. Now she has a little quesita, and the blog keeps being awesome.

I've not met Elizabeth in person, but I emailed her a while back with a blog question, and she sent me the most gracious, helpful response. Her blog shows a consistency that is really admirable, and her sense of style is so fun. Lots of florals and hats. I love this blog, and so will you.

This blog is like a really good magazine. Full of great, glossy photos and interesting articles to go along with them. It covers lots of topics, and it's always beautiful.

Karla has one of my favorite blogs ever. She has the most fabulus collection of vintage goods, and looks like a goddess in anything. She also has short hair, so I'm naturally inspired by her. Her outfits range from elegant to fun to flirty, always with an aire of sophistication. Basically she's who I want to be when I grow up. ;)

I've been following Fashion Makeup Lifestyle for a long time, and she has consistently fun outfits. They are usually on the bold+sexy side of fashion, which I appreciate. She's also just a really cool person - so kind, responds to comments quickly, and is just generally adorable. You'll like her. :)

These gals rock my world. They are 3 sisters from Aruba, and they have some of the best style I've seen. Ever. It's always edgy, fashion-forward, sassy, and a little wild. They inspire me to do crazy things with my hair, wear awesome clothes, and be a badass in general.

I discovered the Wonder Forest recently, and can't stop exploring. So many glorious diy's and beautiful photography. Also this post. :) Get ready for awesomeness.

Surely you've heard of Indiana at Adored Austin - she's a giant in the fashion blogging world. She organized the Texas Style Council {which sadly i missed}. She always looks awesome. AND OH YEAH SHE'S ALSO FROM AUSTIN! I'm so glad she is reppin' my hometown in my absence.

I hope you take a few minutes to check out these lovelies. Let me know your thoughts! Do you have any blogs i need to know about? Link up in the comments!

Wardrobe Wednesday: Interview Outfits

Darlings,
I hope your week is going well. I am a bit sad - my Boo was supposed to come home last night from Alaska ( he works 2 weeks-on/2 weeks-off, but it's sort of flexible), and they decided yesterday morning that they needed him to stay longer, so he won't be home for another week. :( However, he is the sweetest man, and after he called to tell me he had to cancel his flight home, I got a knock on the door. I opened it, and a woman handed me these:

He sent me flowers. I almost cried.

I promised on Monday to show you what I wore for some job interview last week. Here ya go:

Makeup Monday: Candy Nails

Hello Lovelies!

It's monday. Dreary, dreaded, drab monday. My solution?
CANDY NAILS! I fully believe in the power of great colors to lift your mood.

Last week was a whirlwind - I had 4 interviews (3 with the same company), and was offered a position. Thankfully, the hiring manager was an incredibly patient and thoughtful man, and told me to take the weekend to consider whether this opportunity was right for me.
{ps - I'll post my interview outfits on Wednesday}
I spent the weekend trying to assess my feelings, praying, and chatting with good friends. I finally concluded that while I'd enjoy the job, I really feel that now is the best time to focus on my entrepreneurial endeavors.
Basically, I'm amping up my game. ;) And I needed awesome nails to go with...

Wardrobe Wendesday: New Hair!

Darlings, I did something new today.
I dyed my hair LIGHTER. I've never ever gone lighter. I'm always the girl with slightly-too-dark hair. ;)
But I wanted to change it up, so I took this photo to my Stylist:

My new stylist, Emily, is a rock star. She cut my hair last week, and I had such confidence in her that I let her do the unthinkable - bleach my pixie.

Just for reference, here's the Before:

And here's how it turned out:

Wardrobe Wednesday: Red & Gold

Darlings,
Today I am working away in my office, sending out thank-you's to my past hostesses. I have had the privilege of working with some truly amazing women this year, and i love getting to say "thanks" in little ways. :)

Here's the outfit I'm wearing - not my favorite combo ever, but laundry is also not my favorite ever:

Makeup Monday: Turquoise and Gold

Lovelies,
Today has been a hugely busy day - took Boo the the airport, went to look at apartments, worked for a while at the office, found an apartment, filled out papers, and I'm about to deliver those papers so that we have a home come January. LONG day. And on top of that, I'm frantically trying to prepare for a HUGE Christmas Bazaar. Like, 30,000 people huge. {If you are in Portland, come see me! Here 'tis.} Here's the show I was at last weekend:

So today I needed to put on some makeup that made me feel happy. Turquoise and gold, with black liner:

Wardrobe Wednesday BLOG SALE! {charity, love, and hope included}

Darlings,

BLOG SALE! I'm getting rid of anything that is no longer a favorite or needed item. I'm realizing that I don't need all of this stuff, you know? I've been realizing newly just how much I have been blessed with, like access to clean water and consistent food supply, parents who love me, a job that can be free to live as i wish, travel, a lovely husband who treats me as an equal.
As a result of some soul-searching, i have decided that I'd like the proceeds of the blog sale to go towards loving/feeding/freeing people. AND to reward your giving hearts, we are doing a giveaway as well...

So, here's the deal:

Wardrobe Wednesday: BDIB Animal Prints!

Darlings,
Today I am participating in my first Bloggers Do It Better! Woohoo! It is animal prints - my fave.
But first off, here are some photos of my haircut since i trimmed it yesterday:

And here is my entry - a furry one:

 {found at billy goat vintage, Portland}

I think it will be really fun for photoshoots and concerts.

And here's a little treasure that I found at Ross for 21.99 - can you believe it???:

I wish my photos were better, but I was taking them myself by hanging the camera on a fencepost and setting the timer... Maybe one day I'll be cool enough to have someone take my photos for me. ;)

Much much love, darlins!

Makeup Monday: Simplicity+headbands

Darlings,
I want to do a give you a little taste of one of my favorite artists. Julie Jack is also one of my best friends - Boo and her boo are bff's, and we all 4 moved to Portland together! She is an amazing artist, and happens to be good at making anything and everything cute.
She makes these AMAZING headbands, which I especially love now that I have short hair.
Here is the one that I just bought from her etsy store:

{i'm wearing these earrings}

My makeup for the day was, as you can see, purply and soft. Perfect for a rainy day with precious accessories.

Do yourself a favor and check out Julie's website here.

I hope your week is off to a lovely start!

Monochrome comfort - packing for an unknown land

Darlings,
Turns out, Boo is taking me on a surprise trip for my birthday! Woohoo! So excited.
I am trying to pack, but he won't tell me ANY details - all I know is the temp is "between 70-90" and he's not saying anything else...
I am, of course, turning to Polyvore.com to help me. Here's an idea i've just been playing with.

I have all these items, or items similar to them. I can recreate this outfit pretty easily, and I think it will be good for if we go to a city...
I'll work on other "destinations" next.
Have you ever done this? Totally blind packing is hilarious.

Minimalism - Dresses & Jeans

Darlings.
Ok, I have met with about a hundred people about craigslist stuff, and my house is full of boxes. omg. :)
I am still in the process of eliminating  LOTS of stuff from our home, which feels good. Here is MORE of the base-line on the closet.

OMG. Who has this many dresses? And so few pants? I've really gotta work on this...

Have you ever done a full visual inventory of you closet? I'd love to know!
